Police update 2: Fatal traffic crash at Rothwell

Police are appealing for witnesses to a fatal traffic crash which occurred in Rothwell yesterday afternoon.

Preliminary investigations indicate at 2.50pm a silver Mazda 6 station wagon collided with a silver Dodge Journey at the intersection of Anzac Avenue and Wattle Street.

The front passenger of the Mazda 6, a 14-year-old Redcliffe boy, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The alleged driver of the vehicle, a 14-year-old Waterford West boy, sustained critical injuries and was transported to the Queensland Children's Hospital where he is now in a stable condition.

Three female passengers of the vehicle aged 10, 14 and 16 also sustained injuries and were transported to hospital.

Investigators are requesting information from anyone who may have been driving between 2.35pm and 2.50pm in the vicinity of the Mango Hill Railway Station and Anzac Ave between Kinsellas Road, and the intersection of Anzac Avenue and Wattle Street to contact police.

Police are also appealing for dashcam footage of the Mazda 6 driving on Anzac Avenue prior to the crash.
