Police update 2: Marine search and rescue, K'gari

The search has recommenced off Sandy Cape at the northern tip of K'gari (Fraser Island) today following a marine incident on Sunday.

At approximately 8.30pm on May 14, two people were aboard a vessel when they radioed for help and advised their boat had taken on water.

Yesterday morning at about 11.30am, a woman was located in the water. She was airlifted to Bundaberg Hospital for treatment.

The search continued at first light for a missing man and involves vessels including water police and Volunteer Marine Rescue (VMR) Hervey Bay and aircraft.
