Police update 2:Shots fired, Norman Gardens

A 31-year-old Norman Gardens man has been charged following investigations into shots being fired at a Norman Gardens residence on Friday night.

Around 6.15pm on May 24, police received reports about a traffic incident in Smithwick Street involving the driver of a vehicle and bicycle rider, before the pair became involved in an argument.

The driver allegedly left the scene only to return a short time later where shots were fired towards a house while the rider was inside.

He then fled on foot only to return in a vehicle where another two shots were allegedly discharged at the residence, before driving away.

Investigations indicate the man allegedly returned a third time and discharged another shot at the house.

The rider and only occupant of the house, a 40-year-old man, was not injured.

The 31-year-old Norman Gardens has been charged with one count each of unlawful possession of a firearm, dangerous conduct with a weapon and possess explosives (ammunition).

He will appear in the Rockhampton Magistrates Court tomorrow.
