Police update 2: Suspicious fire, Bundall

Police have charged a 44-year-old man over the alleged arson of a Bundall business in the early hours of November 10, 2020.

It will be alleged that just before 4.30am, two people attended the Upton Street business and deliberately lit a fire inside the premises.

No one was injured in the fire however the business, which was closed at the time, was destroyed.

As a result of continued investigations by the Gold Coast Criminal Investigation Branch; detectives executed a search warrant at an address on Clear Island Way, Clear Island Waters, this morning where they arrested one man.

A 44-year-old Clear Island Waters man has now been charged with one count of arson.

He is scheduled to appear at the Southport Magistrates Court tomorrow, Friday September 10.

Investigations continue.
