Police update 2: Traffic crash, Pimpama

Gold Coast Child Protection Investigation Unit detectives have charged a further four youths following a multi-vehicle traffic crash at Pimpama yesterday afternoon.

Investigators will allege the boys were part of group travelling in a stolen white 2023 Mazda Cx5 when it crashed into a Mini Cooper S southbound along the M1.

Police allege the four boys fled the scene and were located by detectives at a Tambourine address today.

Three 16-year-old boys from Marsden, Waterford and Meadowbrook have all been charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle. A 15-year-old North Booval boy has been charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.

All four boys will appear before the Southport Childrens Court at a later date.

Two other boys have been previously charged in relation to this matter.
