Police update: Arrest - Child abduction in Darwin

Northern Territory Police have arrested a 48-year-old woman in relation to the abduction of a five-year-old girl from the Berrimah area on Sunday 7 August.

The woman was arrested yesterday morning and has since been charged with one count of abduction of a child under 16 years.

She was bailed to appear in Darwin Local Court on 6 September 2022.

Detective Senior Sergeant John Beer said, "This is now the fifth arrest in relation to the 5-year-olds abduction, investigations remain ongoing.

"Police will continue to work tirelessly to ensure everyone involved faces court."
