Police update: Concern for welfare in Southern region

Northern Territory Police have located a 60-year-old man who was reported as missing from the Wallace Rockhole community yesterday.

An air and land search began of the Wallace Rockhole Community, some 90km south west of Alice Springs at first light today.

The search consisted of police and officers on motorbikes, emergency services volunteers and local trackers.

Around midday the man was spotted by airborne observers around 10km north east of the community. He was airlifted back to Wallace Rockhole and taken to the local clinic to be treated for mild dehydration.

Police would like to thank Wallace Rockhole trackers, community members and the NTES volunteers who assisted greatly during the search.
