Police update: Fatal crash, Wakerley

An 11-year-old boy has died following a single vehicle crash at Wakerley yesterday (September 22).

Police were called at approximately 9.40am to Manly Road near Hargreaves Road after a Holden Commodore left the roadway and crashed into traffic lights.

Members of the public and an off-duty police officer provided first aid, and the boy was transported to Queensland Children's Hospital in a critical condition.

Today, he passed away in hospital as a result of his injuries.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the circumstances of the crash.
