Police update: Fatal marine incident, Chelmer

A 46-year-old man has been charged following a fatal marine incident at Chelmer in November last year.

Investigations indicate around 4.40pm on November 4, an aluminium dinghy with four people on board was travelling on the Brisbane River when the vessel has hit a private jetty.

A 21-year-old Ipswich woman died at the scene. Two men and a child were transported to hospital with minor injuries.

The Thorneside man has been charged with dangerous operation of a vessel causing death, driving a vessel without a license and failing to provide a specimen of blood.

He is due to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court at a later date.
