Police update: Fatal traffic crash at Bowenville

A 37-year-old man has been charged in relation to a fatal traffic crash at Bowenville in November, 2022.

Emergency services were called at approximately 7pm on November 15, to a two vehicle crash on the Warrego Highway involving a Toyota Landcruiser and Chrysler.

A 50-year-old Wilsonton man, a passenger in the Chrysler, sustained critical injuries and died at the scene.

A second male passenger in the Chrysler and the driver of the Toyota Landcruiser were transported to hospital.

The driver of the Chrysler, a 37-year-old Oakey man, was treated for minor injuries at the scene.

Following extensive investigations by the Forensic Crash Unit, he has been charged with one count each of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death while adversely affected by an intoxicating substance while excessively speeding, and did drive UIL.

He is expected to appear before Toowoomba Magistrates Court today, April 18.
