Police Update: Operation Xray Grader At Caboolture

Operation Xray Grader, which commenced on 29 April, is focused on addressing crime and anti-social behaviour in the Caboolture Central Business District (CBD) including King Street and the train station, bordered by Elliott Street, George Street and Bertha Street.

During the first three months of the operation, police charged 123 people with 168 offences.

The operation will now continue until the end of the 2025, to maintain focus on making the community and businesses safer.

In addition to the day-to-day work of local frontline police, boosted proactive patrols include high visibility and covert, foot, mobile and bike patrols, wanding operations, and direct engagement with businesses and community members.

During the first three months of the operation, police also completed 1694 street checks and issued 99 Traffic Infringement Notices (TINs).

Of the 168 charges, 36 people were charged with drug offences, 15 people charged with stop steal offences, five people charged with weapons offences, and two people charged with assault offences.

Other charges include unlawful entry of premises, public nuisance, trespass, and obstruct police offences.

Moreton District Officer Chief Superintendent Adam Guild said the community has been supportive of the increased police presence.

"It's vital to us that the community, including individuals and business owners, are safe and feel safe," Chief Superintendent Guild said.

"The successful outcomes and positive feedback received from the community, has led to us extending the operation until the end of the year.

"Beyond that, we'll be working on integrating an ongoing long-term strategy focused on proactive prevention and disruption of crime and antisocial behaviour in the precinct.

"This strategy will be designed in collaboration with 150 local businesses who have been invited to provide feedback on the best way forward.

"We've been receiving great feedback from the community and business owners with an increased police presence in the CBD area making them feel safer.

"Local police will continue to take action through enforcement activities focusing on the detection, prevention, and disruption of crime, however, positive community engagement remains the priority of this operation."
