Police Update: Police Involved Shooting, Logan Central

A man has been charged following investigations into a police-involved shooting at Logan Central on 21 March.

It will be alleged around 7.50pm, police attended a Wembley Road address following reports of a disturbance involving an armed man.

During the incident, officers discharged their firearms, striking the man.

The 27-year-old Koongal man was transported to hospital for treatment.

Following investigations, the man has since been charged with one count each of wilful damage, receiving tainted property, serious assault police officer whilst pretending/is armed with a weapon, possessing dangerous drugs and going armed so as to cause fear.

He has been remanded in custody and is due to reappear before Beenleigh Magistrates Court on 27 May.

In keeping with standard practice, the Ethical Standards Command is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident, with oversight from the Crime and Corruption Commission.
