Police update: Sexual assaults investigation at Townsville

Following a public appeal earlier this month, police have charged a man in relation to further sexual offences he allegedly committed whilst working as a builder in Townsville.

It is alleged the man was employed to undertake renovation and repair work at two addresses, one at Wulguru in April 2018 and one at Kirwan in March 2019.

In both cases he allegedly touched the female occupants of the home inappropriately and in one case, also sent inappropriate text messages.

A 46-year-old man has been charged with two counts of common assault, two counts of sexual assault and one count of unlawful stalking.

He is due to appear in the Townsville Magistrates Court on April 16.

Anyone who may be aware of similar incidents in the Idalia, Rosslea, Hermit Park or Kirwan areas - particularly after this year's floods - should contact police.
