Police update: Stealing in Alice Springs

A 14-year-old female has been summonsed to appear before court in relation to an attempted stealing incident in Alice Springs overnight.

Around 9:30pm, a woman was walking down Gap Road when it is alleged the youth attempted to snatch her bag.

The woman fought the offender, who let go and ran away when a nearby security guard came to her aid.

Detectives today identified a 14-year-old female who will be summonsed to appear in the Alice Springs Youth Justice Court in relation to one count of Attempted Stealing.

During inquiries, detectives identified two males, aged 14 and 15, in relation to the criminal damage of a vehicle in Stuart Tce overnight.

The pair will be dealt with under the Youth Justice Act 2005.

Investigations continue to identify those involved in a series of criminal offences including the indecent assault of two tourists in a car park in Alice Springs overnight.
