Police Update: Suspicious Fire, Cottonvale

Detectives from Stanthorpe Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) have charged three teenagers following investigations into a fire in Cottonvale on 17 August.

Emergency services were called to a Granite Belt Drive address at approximately 9.15pm following reports a dwelling was on fire.

No one was physically injured, but the fire destroyed a significant part of the structure before it was extinguished.

Investigators have charged a 15-year-old Thulimbah boy, a 16-year-old Cottonvale boy, and a 16-year-old Kirwan girl with one count each of arson and enter dwelling with intent.

They were dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justice Act.
