Police Update: Wounding Incident Charges, Karawatha

Police have charged a 16-year-old boy following a wounding at Karawatha this morning, 14 July.

It will be alleged at around 11.45am, the boy was involved in an altercation with a 17-year-old Logan boy at an education facility on the corner of Acacia Road and Compton Road.

During the altercation, the 16-year-old allegedly stabbed the 17-year-old with a small knife causing life-threatening injuries.

The 17-year-old was treated at the scene before being transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital for treatment.

It will be further alleged the 16-year-old then left the scene on foot prior to police arrival.

Following enquiries, he was located a short time later in a vehicle on Gowan Road, Stretton.

Police have since charged the 16-year-old boy with one count each of acts intended to maim / disfigure / disable and unlawful possession of weapons category M.

He will appear before Richlands Childrens Court tomorrow, 15 July.
