Pomonal Native Flower Show Blooming Ready For 2025

The Pomonal Native Flower show is the Ararat Rural City's biggest gardening event of the year, and it's coming off an appearance on ABC TV's Gardening Australia, that showcased last year's 40th anniversary show, which aired on 12th September 2025.

The annual Show is organised by the Australian Plant Society Grampians Group (APS GG) and will feature a wide range of stunning Australian native plants, special guests, expert advice, market stalls, refreshments, and plant and book sales. This year's theme is 'Colour your garden with native plants'.

The weekend program will feature a range of expert talks to inspire gardeners, with bird expert Neil Macumber sharing how to attract wildlife, landscape designer Ian Evans offering practical advice on soil preparation and landscaping with natives, and conservationist Neil Marriott demonstrating how to add colour to gardens with native plants. Special guest Dr Noushka Reiter will also present on the prevention of plant extinction, bringing a unique conservation perspective to the line-up.

Show organiser and President of APS GG, Fiona Lucas, said that "The two-day event is relevant to people just getting started on their Australian plant journey or are already well established and want more advice from the experts. We want people to come here to appreciate the beauty and diversity of plants that are both suitable for the garden and have provenance to Australia."
