Pontoon replacements in Ballina and Keith Hall

Flood-damaged pontoons at Lance Ferris Wharf in Fawcett Park, Ballina and at Keith Hall are being replaced.

Council's contractor will replace the pontoons on the following dates (subject to weather conditions):

  • Keith Hall - Tuesday 24 October to Friday 27 October 2023
  • Lance Ferris Wharf in Fawcett Park, Ballina - Monday 30 October to Wednesday 1 November 2023.

At Keith Hall, a truck and crane will remove the damaged pontoons and put the new ones in place. Access to the Keith Hall boat ramp will, at times, be impacted. It is expected that recreational users will be able to access the boat ramp in between crane lifts.

Lance Ferris Wharf pontoons will be replaced by barge on the river, with each unit floated from the Fishery Creek boat ramp at West Ballina. Access to the Fishery Creek boat ramp at West Ballina will, at times, be impacted. Lance Ferris Wharf will be closed to the public while works take place over the three day period.

These works are funded under Transport for NSW's Boating Infrastructure Emergency Repair Pool.
