New York (September 8, 2026)––Ashurst Perkins Coie announced on Tuesday the addition of Robert (Bob) Clarida as of counsel to the firm's Trademark, Copyright, Internet & Advertising (Global) practice within the Intellectual Property (IP) division in New York.
Bob advises clients in a wide range of industries including music, software, film, photography, and new media on complex IP matters. His practice spans IP counseling, transactions, and litigation, with a particular emphasis on copyright, trademark, and internet rights. He also handles domestic and international copyright and trademark prosecution and privacy and publicity rights. He has drafted amicus briefs for the Supreme Court of the United States and numerous U.S. circuit courts.

Bob has received professional recognition for IP and copyright work from Chambers USA, American Lawyer, and Legal 500, among others. He is a published author and has coauthored the "Copyright Law" column in the New York Law Journal since 1995. Since 1997, he has also copresented recent copyright law developments at the annual meeting of the Copyright Society, where he previously served as a trustee.

Bob holds a J.D. from Columbia University School of Law and a bachelor's degree in music composition from the University of Illinois. He also holds a Ph.D. in music composition from Stony Brook University and was a Fulbright scholar at the Musicology Institute of the University of Gothenburg, Sweden.
