Pools to reopen soon in Blue Mountains

Following the Premier's announcement, Council's Leisure Centre team is working to reopen public pools from Monday 27 September - just in time for the warmer weather.

The details of the Public Health Order are still being finalised by the NSW Government. This will dictate which pools we can open, and include all safety protocols and potential vaccination requirements.

Once these details are confirmed, we will include them in our operating procedures, and let the community know. Please keep up to date via Council's website and the Leisure Centre's Facebook page.

During the closure all our pools have received maintenance and are in great shape, and are ready to welcome the community back as soon as we know what is permitted under the new Public Health Order.

Blue Mountains Mayor Mark Greenhill said: "We are excited to be able to reopen pools, especially now that spring is well and truly here.

"While we await the final rules and conditions to be set by the NSW Government, Council staff are working to ensure the pools are in tip-top shape and ready to go.

"Our first priority throughout the pandemic has been the safety of the community and staff, and that hasn't changed. We will ensure that when pools open, they're as safe as they can possibly be."

Strict COVID-safe protocols will be in place at all pools and centres when they reopen, and all visitors must adhere to those protocols at all times.
