Pooraka man charged with drug and weapons offences

A Pooraka man will appear in court today charged with serious drug and weapons offences after police and Australian Border Force officers searched his home yesterday.

Eastern District Police along with Australian Border Force allegedly located a trafficable quantity of methamphetamine and a large commercial quantity (18 litres) of fantasy in cleaning product bottles at a Pooraka address on Thursday 13 July.

Also found at the address were an unregistered firearm (gel blaster) and other offensive weapons, including a flick knife and brace catapult.

A 53-year-old Pooraka man was arrested and charged with drug and weapons offences, including wo counts of trafficking in a controlled drug and possess unregistered firearm.

He was refused police bail and will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court today.
