Porsche driver nabbed at Greenock, South Australia

A Barossa Valley man has lost his licence for six months after he was detected driving at 187km/h on the Sturt Highway at Greenock last night.

Just before 10pm on Wednesday 18 December, Nuriootpa Police were conducting speed detection duties on the Sturt Highway, when they detected a silver Porsche travelling at 187km/h in a 110km/h zone.

The 55-year-old man driving the Porsche was issued with a $1718.00 'on the spot' fine and his licence was disqualified for six months.

A reminder to all motorists speeding is one of the major contributors to serious injury and fatal crashes.

  • The faster the speed the greater the impact, it's simple.
  • An increase in speed increases the risk of collision, decreases reaction time and increases the severity of the injury.
