Madeleine Ogilvie, Minister for Heritage

The Rockliff Liberal Government is pleased to announce the reappointment of the Chair of the Port Arthur Historic Site Management Authority as well as the appointment of a new Director.

Mr Grant O'Brien has served as Chair of the Authority since 2019, leading the Government Business Enterprise through the challenging impacts of COVID.

Mr O'Brien has been re-appointed for a further term of two years to enable the Board to continue to guide the organisation through the post-COVID recovery stage.

Mr Richard Mulvaney has been appointed to the Authority's Board as a new non-executive Director to replace the Hon Peter McKay whose tenure has expired.

Minister for Heritage, Madeleine Ogilvie, said Mr Mulvaney has more than 35 years experience in the cultural sector and is a strong advocate for museums and heritage sites.

"Mr Mulvaney is a past Director of the Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery, past CEO of NSW Rail Transport Museum and a Director of Bradman Museum and Foundation," she said.

"He was the former president of Museums Australia, Tasmania and has held board roles on the Tasmanian Arts Advisory Board, Theatre North, Churchill Memorial Trust, Southern Highlands Arts and Museums Arts and Advisory Board."

Minister Ogilvie thanked Mr McKay for his significant contribution to the Board over the past nine years.

"His leadership and assistance in navigating the business challenges with a pragmatic perspective has enabled business improvement and success," she said.
