It will be alleged the accused established a temporary campsite in the park and about 3.45pm, ignited a campfire. Due to strong winds at the time, the fire quickly spread to surrounding vegetation resulting in a bushfire.
Police and Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) attended the scene. Several DFES crews and a Helitak were able to extinguish the fire, which burnt approximately one hectare of bushland.
