Poseidon Animal Health Boldly Enters US Market

Poseidon Animal Health

Australian privately-owned company Poseidon Animal Health has enjoyed 85% growth across its domestic and export markets in the last year, and now its sights are set on the equine health sector in the USA.

Founded by husband and wife team Peter Lord and Linda Goldspink-Lord in 2017, Poseidon Animal Health specialises in manufacturing animal digestive health supplements and has grown to include equine and canine product ranges, and become the biggest player in the equine gut health supplement market across Australia and New Zealand.

The business expanded into New Zealand in 2019, and is currently exporting to the UAE, Europe and Asia. As of this week, Poseidon Animal Health has launched its equine products in the US market, with stateside manufacturing, distribution, sales, customer service and veterinary expert support.

Global CEO of the business, Peter Lord, said the US has been part of their long-term growth plan, with a huge potential market:

"The US equine industry contributes $122Billion to the US economy, and the market is 10x the size of Australia and New Zealand combined, totalling over 7 million horses."

Customer demand has also driven the US launch plans, said Lord:

"We see the opportunity to mirror our success in the USA where we know consumer demand is high, due to the volume of enquiries and product requests from US customers we already receive."

With unique IP throughout the Poseidon Animal Health digestion and inflammation range of products, their evidence-based equine range is recommended by leading veterinarians, retailers, horse breeders and equine professionals, and is currently stocked in more than 400 retailers across Australia and New Zealand.

Poseidon's Head US veterinarian, Dr Erin Roddy, said:

"Research has identified that poor gut health can play a major role in contributing to many health ailments in horses and dogs, so we believe true health comes from supporting strong digestive and gut health. Wellness from within starts with effective digestive supplements, backed by science."

The company has already helped thousands of horses and dogs throughout its existing markets, and plans to use the same education-based marketing approach in the US market.
