Positive trend across the country evident in Brisbane

The confidence seen across the country during the boat show season has again been evident during the Brisbane Boat Show.

18,226 visitors attended the event, a 16% increase on the previous year. Whilst the show circuit this year has been a haven for boat buyers across the country, the Brisbane event has also been able to increase visitor numbers substantially over the previous year.

The events growth is part of an ongoing plan to build the event. The show returned to the city centre two years ago as part of a rejuvenation program.

BIA President Alan Blake said; "The industry is showing positive signs this year of rejuvenated confidence levels and a true willingness by consumers to upgrade their boating gear or buy something to participate in recreational boating for the first time".

Blake said "Boat Shows perform many functions. To the existing boating community, it’s a forum to see the latest gear on offer and to understand what upgrade options exist. For those new to the lifestyle, it becomes a great environment to understand what opportunities there are to get out on the water".

Preliminary indications from businesses showing products and services to visitors was that many new products will be seen on the local waterways in the coming weeks and months.

The show will return to Brisbane in 2019 from the 23rd to 25th August. Information regarding the next event will be made available at www.BrisbaneBoatShow.com.au
