President Trump recently announced his plan to lower prescription drug costs with his website called TrumpRx.
Local 12 turned to Erwin Erhardt, PhD, economics professor in UC's Lindner College of Business for insights on direct-to-consumer medications.
Erhardt explained that direct purchases are not available for a variety of drugs people need to take yet and that people would still pay for health insurance and then not use it in favor of direct-to-consumer pricing.
"Short term it sounds good," he told Local 12. "I don't know long term if it's going to hold or not."
