Probe Begins into Liverpool Shooting Incident

Detectives are appealing for information from the public after a man suffering a gunshot wound presented at Liverpool Hospital overnight.

About 1.20am (Saturday 24 February 2024), officers from Liverpool City Police Area Command were called to Liverpool Hospital after a man had presented with injuries consistent with gunshot wounds.

The patient - believed to be a man aged in his 30s - died a short time later. He is yet to be formally identified.

Detectives from State Crime Command's Homicide Squad have taken carriage of the investigation.
