Progress for Landslips Recovery: Latrobe City Council

Engineers and Mayor at landslip site

Latrobe City Council is pleased to see remediation works complete at 54 of the registered landslips sites it is monitoring.

Many of the landslips are throughout the Strzelecki Ranges with three outliers in Yallourn North.

The Federal Government in cooperation with the Victorian Government has provided $15.3 million for landslip remediation works including $13.5 million from Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements and $1.8 million through the Local Roads and Community Infrastructure program. Council has also requested several million dollars in further funding in relation to storms and floods during August and October 2022.

Mayor of Latrobe City, Councillor Kellie O'Callaghan was pleased to see disaster recovery efforts take shape.

"Council is thankful that disaster recovery efforts have been taking shape across our city following the storms and floods during 2021 and 2022' said the Mayor.

"With so many landslips to contend with, our region has had a significant task in repairing the damage that was caused.

"We would like to thank our community for their patience and understanding as we work through the lengthy repair process."
