Project Planet Sustainability Success: Bayside

Bayside's first eco-friendly fair, Project Planet, brought the community together for a day of interactive workshops, inspiring panel talks, sustainable food trucks and children's activities at Cahill Park, Wolli Creek on Saturday 18 October.

This inaugural Bayside Council event inspired hundreds of residents and attendees with fresh ideas, practical tools and the motivation to reduce their environmental footprint and contribute to a more resilient future for Bayside.

The event featured a diverse mix of eco-focused businesses, environmental organisations and community groups, all showcasing practical ideas for living more sustainably.

The program included cooking demonstrations, solar energy showcases, electric vehicle displays and eco-workshops all promoting a greener lifestyle.

Attendees explored themed stalls, picked up new skills, and enjoy a delicious range of food from sustainable vendors committed to low-waste practices.

The event was designed to reflect Bayside Council's commitment to environmental leadership and 2032 sustainability goals.

As the sun set families gathered under the stars to enjoying screenings of The Wild Robot and Ocean with David Attenborough that provided a perfect finale to a day celebrating community and the planet.
