Providers to benefit from new NDIS transition initiatives

The Australian Government has announced two new initiatives designed to assist disability service providers to successfully transition to the NDIS: The Boosting the Local Care Workforce (BLCW) website and a Transition Assistance Funding round.The Boosting the Local Care Workforce website provides a range of resources to assist providers to transition to the NDIS, including an 'NDIS Demand Map'. The map provides estimates of participant, workforce and spending amounts by postcode.Interested parties can use the website to contact BLCW Program Regional Coordinators. Coordinators can provide localised information and support, assist providers to complete a Readiness Assessment, and connect stakeholders with complementary programs and initiatives in the disability and aged care sectors.Under the Boosting the Local Care Workforce Program, eligible organisations can apply for up to $20,000 of tailored business support under the Transition Assistance Funding program. Service providers can use this funding to purchase tailored professional services, including business advice, to enhance their business and workforce capability. The closing date for Transition Assistance Funding applications is 26 April 2019.
