Police have charged a 49-year-old interstate tourist following an alleged high-range drink driving offence in Chinchilla, 13 September.
Around 12.25am, police were called to a licensed venue on Heeney Street following reports a vehicle had crashed into a garden bed in the car park.
Police attended and located a black van in the car park. As officers approached, a woman allegedly drove the vehicle forward and collided with a support pole of a shade structure.
The woman was stopped by police and returned a positive roadside breath test before being transported to Chinchilla Police Station for further analysis.
She allegedly returned a breath alcohol concentration of 0.227 per cent, more than four times the legal limit.
The 49-year-old has been charged with driving without due care and attention and driving a motor vehicle whilst under the influence of alcohol.
Her licence has been suspended, and she has been issued a notice to appear before Chinchilla Magistrates Court on 1 October 2026.
