PSPA revoked, Hyde Park (Townsville)

Police have revoked an emergency declaration under the Public Safety Preservation Act (PSPA) in relation to a suspicious device located in Hyde Park this morning.

The device was located in a business car park on Woolcock Street at 10:35am.

An emergency declaration was made at 12.40pm and specialist police assessed the device before conducting a controlled detonation of the item.

The emergency declaration was revoked at 2:50pm.

Investigations are continuing.
