Colac Otway Shire Council is encouraging residents, businesses and property owners to attend upcoming community drop-in and online sessions to learn more about its Draft Revenue and Rating Plan and its potential impacts.
The drop-in sessions form part of Council's ongoing commitment to community engagement and provide an opportunity for people to speak directly with Council staff, ask questions and better understand the options outlined in the draft plan.
Chief Executive Officer Andrew Tenni said the sessions would help community members make informed submissions on a proposal that would affect ratepayers across the shire.
"We understand that revenue and rating can be a complex topic, and these sessions are designed to give people the opportunity to have a conversation with Council staff and learn more about the different options being considered," Mr Tenni said.
"The Draft Revenue and Rating Plan includes some proposed changes that could affect different property owners in different ways. We encourage everyone to review the information available and take the opportunity to ask questions before making a submission."
