Byron Shire Council's Draft Developer Contributions Plan is on public exhibition.
It's the final step in the development of the plan, which sets out the fees Council collects from developers and which community projects the contributions will help fund.
The Draft Developer Contributions Plan has been written following extensive community engagement and consultation earlier in the year.
Staff held 10 community workshops, spoke to high school students and received more than 350 comments which helped inform the draft plan.
Kevin Craft, Acting Strategic Engineering Coordinator, said people were very keen to be involved and their feedback was important and constructive.
"After talking with the different groups and individuals we have made an allocation for shade trees across the Byron Shire and also included several new projects such as a shared path on McGettigans Lane and an upgrade of amenities in Bayside Park at Brunswick Heads," Mr Craft said.
"I am really hoping people take the time to have a look at the Draft Developer Contributions Plan and make a submission," he said.
The closing date for feedback is 2 June 2026.
People can make a submission, or read the Draft Developer Contributions Plan, on Council's website.
