According to the Public Service Commission of Canada's 2018-19 Annual Report, more hiring managers are modernizing and streamlining their staffing processes, using innovative ways to hire new talent.
Over the coming year, the Public Service Commission will continue to work with departments and agencies to reduce the time it takes to staff positions in the federal public service through innovation and experimentation. This includes transforming the GC Jobs recruitment platform, and exploring the use of emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, to improve recruitment.
The public service must also continue to build a talented, inclusive and diverse workforce that is representative of all Canadians. With the adoption of the Accessible Canada Act, federal departments and agencies will collaborate on solutions to identify, remove and prevent accessibility barriers, and increase the hiring, retention and development of persons with disabilities in the public service.
