Qantas has been named Australia's most on time airline for the eighth consecutive year to once again rank first for punctuality in Australia.
According to official government data released today, more than 81 per cent of Qantas domestic and regional flights departed on time across the year to June, its best result since 2019 outside of Covid. The result was also 3.4 percentage points higher than the previous financial year, and 5.4 percentage points higher than FY24.
The airline finished ahead of its major competitor by around 3.5 percentage points, winning 11 out of 12 months of the year.
It is the airlines strongest on time performance in seven years.
The airline finished the year strongly, with the results also revealing that almost 85 per cent of Qantas flights departed on time in June, ranking as the world's most on-time major airline according to aviation analytics firm OAG.
It is the fifth time in the past six months that Qantas has ranked in the top three major airlines globally.
Qantas Domestic Chief Executive Officer Markus Svensson said: "Getting more customers away on time is a team effort across every part of the operation, from engineering and operations to airports and our technology teams.
"We've seen consistent improvement in our on-time performance over the past few years and it's a credit to our teams that we're now regularly among the world's leading airlines."
