Western Australia will welcome Australia's top tourism representatives this week for the 41st Qantas Australian Tourism Awards, celebrating excellence across the nation's tourism sector.
Western Australia won the right to host the prestigious national awards event following a successful bid submission by the Cook Government and Business Events Perth, in partnership with the City of Fremantle and the Rottnest Island Authority.
The awards begin with the two-day Talking Tourism Business Forum at Rottnest Island and then Fremantle, bringing together tourism businesses for workshops, discussions, and networking, plus keynote speeches from artificial intelligence-sector leader Simon Kriss discussing innovation.
The Australian Tourism Awards will then take place on Friday night at Fremantle Prison, bringing together around 800 industry leaders and key stakeholders, representing more than 190 tourism operators, to unveil the nation's best, with winners selected from state and territory finalists.
Western Australia is proudly represented by a strong line-up of finalists, including leading tourism operators across accommodation, experiences, events, and regional tourism.
Western Australia previously hosted the Australian Tourism Awards in 2018 at Optus Stadium.
The event strengthens Western Australia's tourism sector by providing operators with opportunities to learn, connect, and grow with the nation's best tourism business, while Fremantle takes centre stage as a world-class destination for visitors and industry.
Hosting these awards enhances Western Australia's national profile, contributing to the Cook Government's economic diversification agenda while stimulating local businesses and local jobs.
