Financial support is continuing for households, health providers and tourism operators, while border and public health protections have again been strengthened this week as part of Queensland's ongoing plan to recover from the worldwide impact of COVID-19.
After a week when four new (overseas acquired) cases were reported, there are five active cases, 1063 recovered and a total of 1076 as at July 24.
Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said that in response to further NSW outbreaks, the city of Fairfield has been added to Liverpool, Campbelltown and all of Victoria as COVID hotspots.
That means non-residents are not permitted entry from those areas, while Queensland residents returning must quarantine in a hotel at their own expense for 14 days.
Meanwhile a requirement to remain seated in licensed venues has been reinstated, although the same number of people is allowed, and food and drink may be ordered from the bar.
"We want business to be able to welcome back customers, but we need to work together to keep our community safe and our economic recovery moving forward," Ms Palaszczuk said.
The Premier this week also visited the Sunshine Coast and Wide Bay, where announcements included fee relief for whale watching businesses.
It was another important measure for tourism recovery under the $6 billion Unite & Recover for Qld Jobs plan and the 'Queensland – You're Good to Go' domestic marketing campaign.
