This week at the March 2026 Council meeting, Council endorsed the Quarterly Community Report for the period 1 October to 31 December 2025, providing the community with a transparent update on progress against key priorities in the Council Plan 2025-29.
The report outlines continued delivery across major projects, services, and community initiatives, with all planned actions currently in progress.
City of Casey Mayor Cr Stefan Koomen said the report reflects Council's strong focus on delivering for the community.
"This report shows the real progress we're making in delivering the projects, services and facilities our community needs now and into the future. We're continuing to invest in roads, community spaces and local services while planning for a growing population, and it's encouraging to see so many initiatives tracking well," he said.
"We remain committed to being transparent and accountable, and to keeping our community informed every step of the way."
Council's $149 million Capital Works Program continues to deliver important infrastructure, with approximately 260 projects planned for the 2025/26 financial year. These investments are supporting growing communities with improved facilities, roads, and recreational spaces.
During the quarter, significant progress was made on major capital works projects including advancing projects such as the Ballarto Road Family and Community Centre, Doveton Pool redevelopment, and Ernst Wanke Road pedestrian signals. Nine projects were completed, including upgrades at Hallam Tennis Pavilion, Barry Simon Reserve playground, and local road improvements in Cranbourne.
Council also strengthened community safety partnerships through events and forums, including Community Safety Month and the Ageing Positively Festival.
Meaningful steps toward Council's Net Zero by 2030 target continued, including securing funding for energy-efficient upgrades, installing monitoring systems, and embedding sustainability into major contracts. Ongoing work in tree planting, biodiversity, and climate resilience planning also featured this quarter.
The Quarterly Community Report is a key part of Council's commitment to transparency and accountability, providing residents with clear and regular updates on performance, projects, and priorities.
