Queensland eases restrictions as WA ends hard lockdown

Queensland has revised its restrictions for people returning from Western Australia, with plans to release some quarantined guests early.

WA announced it will ease restrictions at midnight (AWST) tonight after reporting no new cases linked to a quarantine hotel guest in Perth.

Chief Health Officer Dr Jeannette Young welcomed the news, saying it meant Queensland could begin moving people out of hotel quarantine.

Starting at midday on Tuesday, 27 April 2021, anyone who has been quarantined because of travel to WA can leave if they:

  • have returned at least one negative COVID-19 test
  • have not attended any of the venues listed as being linked to the three WA cases
