  • Crisafulli Government is fast tracking housing supply with more than 77,000 homes unlocked and counting.
  • 34 Residential Activation Fund projects announced to date and ready for delivery.
  • Three new priority development areas declared since April, unlocking 30,200 homes for Queenslanders sooner.

The Crisafulli Government has unlocked more than 77,000 homes through key initiatives designed to fast-track housing supply.

The $2 billion Residential Activation Fund will support the construction of critical trunk and essential infrastructure to unlock the provision of thousands of new homes across Queensland.

More than 46,800 homes will be unlocked with the 34 projects announced to date.

Under Labor's decade of neglect, Queenslanders found it increasingly difficult to secure and keep a roof over their head, and housing lot approvals plummeted 29 per cent.

Economic Development Queensland (EDQ) has unlocked 30,200 homes within Priority Development Areas in the last four months alone, through initiatives in Southern Thornlands, Mount Peter and North Harbour.

Additionally, EDQ also saw a record number of development approvals given last quarter, with over 2,890 lots and dwellings approved in April to June alone.

This marks an increase of over 1,320 approvals compared to the same period in 2023–24.

EDQ is responding to Queensland's housing shortfall by fast-tracking approvals, unlocking development-ready land by removing barriers for developers, and releasing land to market where it's needed most.

To further accelerate housing delivery, the Government is partnering with local councils to reset the planning partnership through streamlined approvals and ensuring timely decisions.

The $12.5 million Scheme Supply Fund is providing much-needed financial support to 46 councils, enabling them to fast-track housing projects while maintaining the unique character of Queensland's communities.

Deputy Premier and Minister for State Development, Infrastructure and Planning Jarrod Bleijie today announced significant progress and new initiatives as part of the government's ambitious target to deliver one million new homes by 2044.

"The Crisafulli Government understands the urgency of delivering housing supply across Queensland to ease Labor's Housing Crisis," Deputy Premier Bleijie said.

"We are unlocking land, reforming planning processes, and investing in infrastructure to ensure every Queenslander has access to housing through more supply.

"These measures are working with more than 77,000 new homes set to be delivered in our communities thanks to the infrastructure being delivered under the Residential Activation Fund."
