Queensland Govt boosts Bundy manufacturer

A $1.36 million Queensland Government Made in Queensland Grant is supporting local Bundaberg manufacturer Aletek take its cutting-edge mining products to global markets.

Aletek was awarded an MIQ Round 4 grant of $1.36 million to purchase and install a punch/laser combination machine, hydraulic press, flatbed cutter and handheld 3D scanner.

The company estimates the new equipment will support the creation of 29 new local jobs over the next five years.

Queensland's Manufacturing Minister Glenn Butcher is looking forward to meeting with local manufacturing workers at their site in Bundaberg.

Aletek is a global manufacturer in heavy duty exhaust systems, thermal lagging and diesel emission control solutions for the mining and oil and gas industries.

The 2023-24 Queensland Budget provides the hugely successful Made in Queensland Grant Program $32.2 million to help with new technology adoption, international competitiveness, productivity and innovation.

Made in Queensland has created and supported more than 5,400 jobs, and the investment in this budget will ensure even more manufacturing jobs are made in Queensland.
