The Queensland Police Pipes and Drums (QPP&D) team is celebrating a significant achievement, having been selected to perform at The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo in Brisbane and Auckland next year.
Travelling from its Scottish homeland to Australia and New Zealand next year, The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo is regarded as one of the world's most prestigious military and cultural showcases, combining marching bands, drums, dancers, pipes and precise routine.
Marching onto the global stage in February 2026, QPP&D has been selected to perform alongside the global talents of the Tattoo. Their selection and inclusion in the event is a reflection of both their musical abilities and their dedication to the musical traditions steeped within military and policing fields.
Performing in Brisbane for the first time, this historic event is part of the Tattoo's 75th Anniversary Show, 'The Heroes Who Made Us'.
To celebrate this honour, QPP&D delivered a live performance in Southbank this morning, offering morning commuters a glimpse of the entertainment they will bring to the stage early next year.

Officer in Charge of Queensland Police Pipes and Drums, Acting Senior Sergeant Lisa Phillis-Petersen, said she and each of her fellow QPP&D members are thrilled by the achievement and are beginning preparations for their performance.
"This is an incredible honour and a moment of pride for our band," Acting Senior Sergeant Phillis-Petersen said.
"The band has already begun preparations, with our recent march on National Police Remembrance Day yet another opportunity to showcase our talent, with each of our members in their Number 1 uniform.
"The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo is the pinnacle of global performance, and to stand on that stage representing the QPS is a great opportunity, not only to strengthen our relationship between the Service and the international community, but to demonstrate the talents within our own home state.
"We can't wait to showcase the talent and dedication of the Queensland Police Service Pipes and Drums."

The Brisbane leg of the Tattoo will be held from 12 to 15 February 2026 at Suncorp Stadium, before moving to Auckland's Eden Park from 19 to 21 February.
The event will be a spectacle of music, military precision, and cultural celebration, marking a significant milestone both in the QPP&D and the Tattoo's history.
