- For the tenth year in a row, Queensland Rail is pleased to announce the return of its two-for-one economy tickets on western long-distance services during the summer season.
- The fare will be available for travel between 1 November 2025 and 31 March 2026 on the Spirit of the Outback, Westlander and Inlander.
- The seasonal promotion gives Queenslanders the chance to explore the outback at exceptional value.
Train lovers can explore outback Queensland for less, with Queensland Rail's '2 for 1' Outback Rail fares designed to encourage travel during the quieter months and support regional communities by boosting connectivity.
Customers can enjoy significant savings, with those travelling in pairs offered two tickets for the price of one. There are also discounts available for solo travellers.
Queensland Rail Executive General Manager Regional Operations Candice Heine said there was a strong demand for affordable and accessible travel options.
"This year marks ten years of our '2 for 1' Outback Rail sale and we're thrilled to welcome customers onboard," Ms Heine said.
"It's a great opportunity to discover the unique charm of Queensland's outback towns on our Spirit of the Outback, Westlander and Inlander services, while enjoying significant savings.
"We know that transport options can be limited in some areas, and this fare helps make travel more accessible - whether it's for a holiday, to visit family, or simply to enjoy the journey.
"Queensland Rail's western services connect Brisbane with Longreach and Charleville, Townsville with Mount Isa and many places in between.
"We're proud to offer a deal that not only benefits our customers but also supports operators and local economies across outback Queensland.
"There's something truly special about travelling by rail - it's relaxed, social, and lets you take in the landscapes in a way that no other mode of transport can."
