QUT Joins Top 200 Global Universities in Second Rankings Report

QUT has risen in the latest international rankings compiled by Times Higher Education (THE) to be equal 199th.

The 2024 THE World University Rankings included 1,904 ranked institutions, making them the largest and most diverse university rankings compiled by THE in their 20-year history.

This result builds on the success of QUT achieving a personal best in the QS World University rankings earlier this year - where the university was also recognised as one of the top 200 globally.

THE World University Rankings assess universities across their core goals of teaching, research, international outlook and industry engagement.

In the latest tables, QUT has increased its international standing across four of the five broad areas assessed by THE, particularly in the areas of Teaching, Research Environment, Research Quality, and Industry.

Acting QUT Vice-Chancellor Professor Robina Xavier said the results were a recognition of the sustained focus on providing quality education and conducting research that has real world, global impact.

"The results reflect our strong and ongoing investments in teaching and learning, research, and engagement with industry," Professor Xavier said.

"We are continuing to grow and excel in key focus areas of improving student experiences, providing professionally-oriented teaching and work integrated learning, and research which has an impact on an international scale.

"It is also pleasing to see that recognition of our relevance to industry continues to strengthen with an excellent score against the newly introduced patents indicator.

Collaborations with local, national and international partners including Sealy Australia, the Reef Restoration and Adaptation Program and the University of Tokyo showcase the impact of QUT research and the innovative spirit that underpins our industry engagement.
