Raptor South seek OMCG associate after prohibited weapons seized from home, NSW

Police are appealing for community assistance to locate an associate of the Comanchero outlaw motorcycle gang (OMCG) after prohibited weapons were located during an FPO search in the Illawarra, NSW Police say.

About 1.15pm yesterday (Thursday 30 August 2018), officers from Strike Force Raptor South served Firearms and Weapons Prohibition Orders (FPO and WPO) on a 35-year-old man at Unanderra.

An FPO search was conducted at a nearby home, where they located a pistol crossbow, ammunition and cannabis. The man left the location during the search.

The resident – a 38-year-old woman – was cautioned at the home and will be charged by way of a Future Court Attendance Notice.

Following further inquiries, an FPO search was conducted, with the assistance of Lake Illawarra Police District, at another home at Unanderra.

During the search, police seized a self-loading air-rifle, which fires gel pellets; ammunition, and a butterfly knife.

Raptor South conducted extensive inquiries and searches to find the man, but he has not yet been located.

The man is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 175cm tall, with a solid build, and brown hair, which is shaved short.

He resides in Unanderra and is known to frequent suburbs throughout the Illawarra.

Anyone with information about the man’s whereabouts or that may assist Raptor South with their inquiries is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
