RAS PAW Arrests

Detectives from the Rapid Apprehension Squad have charged two males after performing two separate vehicle stops – with valuable support from Police Air Wing – on Friday 8 December 2023.

About 9.45am, a white Suzuki hatchback bearing incorrect registration plates was stopped in Victoria Square in the Perth CBD.

The 48-year-old male driver was arrested after it was ascertained he did not hold a current driver's licence, was subject to six court revocations and eight fine suspensions.

It will be alleged the man was also involved in a number of stealing and burglary offences, including two incidents at a hospital in Midland on Wednesday 4 October 2023.

Police will allege the man – who was visiting a relative – stole property and cash from the rooms of two patients.

The 48-year-old Morley man has been charged with:

3 x Stealing

1 x Aggravated Home Burglary and Commit

1 x No Authority to Drive – Suspended (Other Than Fines Suspension)

1 x Drove, Caused or Permitted a Vehicle with a Forged, Replica or False Plate to be Driven on a Road

He is next due to appear in Perth Magistrates Court on Thursday 4 January 2024.

About 10.50am, officers apprehended a 32-year-old man driving a black Holden Cruze on the Graham Farmer Freeway in Perth.

It will be alleged the man was subject to a bench warrant after he failed to appear in court in relation to family violence offences.

A search of the vehicle yielded an extendable baton, a laser pointer and approximately $4000 in cash.

The Clarkson man has been charged with:

1 x Breach of Bail Undertaking

1 x No Authority to Drive (Never Held)

He is next due to appear in Joondalup Magistrates Court on Monday 8 January 2023.
