With more than 800 reported COVID-19 cases recorded in the Illawarra Shoalhaven region over the last seven days, it's important we all do our best to keep each other safe.
From Monday 29 May, Wollongong Local Government Area (LGA) residents can pick up free RATs from their local library.
The RATs are provided by NSW Health and are being distributed through Wollongong City Libraries.
Wollongong City Lord Mayor Councillor Gordon Bradbery AM said the RATs will be available at all seven Wollongong City Libraries locations.
"We're working with NSW Health to distribute the free Rapid Antigen Tests to those in our community who need them. We know that not everyone can afford to purchase a RAT test, so this is an opportunity for all residents to access tests for free," Cr Bradbery said.
"We have been provided with a limited supply of free tests from NSW Health so we're going to use an honour system. That means residents don't need to bring proof of residence, simply show up to your local library and ask for a test kit.
