Re-Appeal as Police Divers Aid Auburn Shooting Probe

Police divers have been brought in to assist the investigation into a public place shooting in Auburn last year.

Strike Force Martorell was established by officers attached to Auburn Police Area Command after shots were fired into a home and a vehicle (driven by Khoder HAMDAN) on Chisholm Road, about 3pm Wednesday 23 October 2024.

Following a public appeal on Tuesday 6 May 2025, Strike Force Martorell detectives received information which led investigators to conduct a search of Heiden Park and Prospect Creek, Carramar.

As a result of this appeal, police re-attended the creek to search for items believed to be used in connection with the offence.

At 9am on Thursday 8 May 2025, investigators attended Heiden Park in Fairfield, supported, by SouthWest Metropolitan Operations Support Group, and Marine Area Command's Diving Unit. During the search, police seized a pair of burnt Adidas pants, that will be subject of a forensic examination & an encrypted mobile phone.

As investigations continue, police are seeking to identify two male occupants of a Ford Ranger Raptor ute, last seen in the vicinity of Heiden Park and Prospect Creek, about 3.20pm on Wednesday 23 October 2024.

The Ford utility is further described as a black 2022 special edition PX3, with distinctive red stripes on the side and bonnet, an aftermarket roller shutter on the tray, and green P plates attached to the front and rear.

It is believed the vehicle was used in the delivery of a Mazda CX-3 SUV that day, staged for the purpose of getting away.

Police would like to speak with the men, who may be able to assist police with inquiries.
